65 DAYS TO GO . . .

     THURSDAY FEBRUARY 17, 2011
             (My Mom's Birthday!)
     EXERCISE.  AH YES, EVERYONE'S FAVORITE SUBJECT.  IF YOU'RE NOT AN EXERCISE JUNKY ALREADY, ODDS ARE THIS IS NOT YOUR FAVORITE TOPIC.  BUT SIMILAR TO A WALT DISNEY WORLD VACATION, YOUR CRUISE IS GOING TO HAVE YOU LOGGING SOME MILES ON YOUR FEET AS WELL.
     BEFORE GOING TO ANY OF THE DISNEY PARKS, IT IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO START WALKING.  NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO START HANGIN AND BANGIN AT THE GYM WITH ALL THE MEATHEADS, BUT YOU SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO BE ON YOUR FEET MORE.  GET OUT OF THE HOUSE IF THE WEATHER PERMITS AT THE TIME OF DAY THAT WORKS BEST FOR YOU.  GO WITH THE HUBBY, WIFE, GIRLFRIEND, BOYFRIEND, KIDS.  WHATEVER OR WHOEVER YOUR TRIP IS GOING TO INCLUDE IF YOU CAN.  ACTUALLY IF YOU'RE KIDS AREN'T GOING TO BE IN A STROLLER, IT'S REALLY A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE THEM START DOING SOME WALKING WITH YOU.  EVERYBODY KNOWS THERE'S NOTHING WORSE THAN A COMPLAINING KID.  ESPECIALLY "PICK ME UP" OR "I'M TOO TIRED", WHEN THERE'S MILES MORE TO GO.
     IF YOU CAN'T GET ON A TREADMILL, OR YOU ALL CAN'T, A NICE WALK AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE, IN NUMBERS FOR A MONTH BEFORE YOUR TRIP SHOULD BE ENOUGH.  YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO 10 MILES EVERYDAY.  THE KIDS PROBABLY COULDN'T ANYWAY.  BUT A MILE COULDN'T HURT OR TAKE THAT LONG.  THAT'S AN EXTRA 30 MILES OF EXERCISE OVER 30 DAYS TIME BEFORE YOUR TRIP AND SHOULD MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN BEING ABLE TO TAKE TREKKING AROUND A HUGE CRUISE SHIP AND EXCURSION TIME ON SHORE AND POOPING OUT COMPLETELY.  ANY EXERCISE OVER AND ABOVE THAT WILL JUST BE A BONUS.
